There is little to no evidence to suggest that the topical use of castor oil is unsafe during pregnancy, and it is often used to reduce stretch marks, improve hair growth, and moisturise the skin. However, due to the fact that internal use of castor oil can induce labour, and cause severe nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea, we would recommend speaking with your healthcare practitioner before using castor oil, even topically, while pregnant.

Hair health is largely dependent on the individual’s baseline, and length of time experiencing symptoms (of hair thinning/ loss).

There are also several other factors that could be causing hair thinning/loss such as stress, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, or the haircare products that you use. As a very rough guide, here’s what our research suggests;

Improved collagen production is likely to occur between 4 - 8 weeks. While we may wish for collagen to help your skin’s appearance, if your body decides that your digestive tract, cartilage or organs need it more - you guessed it, that’s what’s going to happen. Collagen isn’t measurable and doesn’t always directly translate to visual skin health.*

Gut health is largely dependent on the individual’s baseline. If someone has an unbalanced gut they are likely to experience an increased frequency of bowel movements & stool volume within 2 - 7 days.
