The story behind the role
This role has been at the forefront of our brand’s collective mind for some time. And we’re excited to finally make it a reality.
Until now, our creative efforts have been a work of collaboration from our creative team, with a dash of external assistance from renowned branding agencies.
However, owing to our brand’s rapid growth and the fact that our global expansion is demanding our Director’s attention, we have reached a place where we need an expert eye in-house to take the lead on our visual identity and guide our brand’s visual experience into the future.
About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to take creative control of our rapidly growing brand.
Reporting to our Brand Director, you’ll exercise total mastery of our visual direction. You’ll develop creative concepts for everything from visual product identities, to multi-channel marketing campaigns, to social media content, and everything in between.
Then, you’ll collaborate with, and manage, our creative team of designers, content creators, and writers to ensure the creative vision is executed with precision.

Who we're looking for
You’re a strategic visual thinker and storyteller who is constantly creating. You’ll have had plenty of experience in hands-on design work and you’ll have an in-depth understanding of the inner workings of all creative processes – from videography post-production to multi-channel campaigns and every visual element in between.
As our Art Director, you’ll be propelling our visual efforts across multiple channels through campaign-level thinking, tactical execution, and a considered and collaborative approach.
It’s crucial that you’re the kind of person who doesn’t only delight in bringing their own ideas to life, but loves to work within a creative team to workshop the best approaches and execution tactics.
You’ll also have a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between marketing, digital and social media, and culture. You’ll constantly be working with the team to strategise concepts that speak to these intersecting and overlapping elements. The goal? creating visual brand experiences that go beyond ‘aesthetics’, speak to lived experiences, and connect on a human-to-human level.
As our Art Director, you’ll:
Manage our creative team to develop and maintain visual brand aesthetics
Lead the conceptualisation, development and manage the implementation of creative guidelines for new and current products and campaigns
Take an eagle-eyed view across every brand touchpoint to ensure our brand aesthetic is being carried through effectively
Support our team through recommendations on how best to execute work and troubleshoot challenges
Give and receive constructive feedback from our internal teams to ensure everything our brand ships is of exceptional standard
Have a forensic attention to detail
Be confident managing your own workload, and ensure you have the capacity to action feedback in a timely manner
Be confident visualising concepts and ideas through storyboards, mock-ups, sketches etc
Be able to balance multiple projects at one time and simultaneously know when you need to take the time and space you need to let your ideas breathe
What you'll ideally bring with you
2 years+ experience as an Art Director
An engaging portfolio of work (we’ll ask you to share this with us in your initial application)
Extensive experience with conceptualising and designing work for all digital platforms
Experience supervising a creative team
Experience reviewing and approving all types of creative – from illustrations, to all categories of design, to video assets, to web design
Experience leading visual product design is desirable but not essential
High proficiency in the full Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator)
A comprehensive understanding of essential media channels including but not limited to, IG, FB, email, website, TikTok, email etc.
A thorough understanding of the best practices for channel-specific asset creation, eg. file formats, motion graphic nuances, static image properties etc
An eye innovative eye to identify emerging platforms, trends, messaging and styles
Experience presenting concepts on artistic direction
